Code: 101323937

Description

Action: ERASMUS-EDU-2026-CBHE-REGION-2
Description: TRUTHES (Thriving Resilience against UnTruth among Higher Education Students) is an innovative Erasmus+ CBHE project aimed at strengthening media literacy education in the Neighbourhood East (NE) region, equipping higher education students from all disciplines with the competences needed to counter disinformation, foster civic engagement and uphold democratic values. Unlike conventional media literacy initiatives, TRUTHES integrates Positive Psychology into media literacy education, addressing both cognitive and ethical dimensions in order to develop resilient, critically engaged citizens with strong inner resources, capable of responding to disinformation in a reflective and autonomous manner. In parallel, Media Literacy Clubs function as bridges between academia, industry and civil society, applying a public–private–civil living lab model that empowers students as active agents of change beyond their institutional boundaries, while extending the societal impact of higher education. In addition, TRUTHES introduces consortium-recognised micro-credentials for students and certified capacity-building programmes for teaching staff, supporting sustainable academic and professional development.
Overall, this holistic project approach represents a contemporary and transformative contribution to higher education innovation, integrating diversified pedagogical methods, micro-credentials, a Positive Psychology–based media literacy framework, advanced digital tools, industry expertise, civic engagement activities and evidence-based recommendations consolidated in an academic publication. Through strong transnational cooperation between EU and NE partners, TRUTHES will reinforce the role of independent media, informed citizen participation and democratic resilience, while laying the groundwork for a more autonomous, inclusive and democratic future, contributing to social development in a region facing persistent democratic and societal challenges
